Google Software Engineering Manager, Google Cloud in Dublin, Ireland

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Go).

  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

  • 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization.

  • Experience in distributed computing, containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like Compute Engine.

  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., PLX) and familiarity with BoQ and annealing processes are highly valued.

  • Experience in SQL, data analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.

  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.

In this role, you'll build and lead a high-impact team responsible for enhancing our vulnerability detection capabilities and developing cutting-edge mitigations. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders across Trust & Safety and Google Cloud Platform to strengthen our security posture.

  • Identify vulnerabilities related to Change Management within our Cloud infrastructure. Conduct thorough analysis and back your hypotheses with robust data and evidence.

  • Develop and implement effective, system-wide mitigation for identified risks. Utilize Large Scale Changes and other broad roll-out techniques to ensure comprehensive risk reduction.

  • Negotiate and influence best approaches to mitigate risks, ensuring alignment and buy-in from key stakeholders.
