Bausch + Lomb Principal R&D Engineer in Dublin, Ireland

Duties

  • Lead the new product introduction efforts for the Waterford Site.

  • Ensure all key new product deliverables are identified and achieved. New

  • Products are introduced onsite at a low cost, with a robust manufacturing process and within the required timelines.

  • Initiate and maintain all Project management documentation and plans, this includes ensuring project milestones are met, global implementation and ongoing management of the manufacturing strategy is generated and followed. Product performance targets are set and met.

  • Accountable for working with operations and site functions to deliver robust systems in time to support required launch and ramp schedules.

  • Manages compliance of team members to complete assigned tasks and responsibilities, including design control, Speed to Market expectations, PDP process, program schedules, budgets, CERs, etc.

  • Negotiates and resolves cross-functional program issues with R&D and Commercial functional leads and communicates decisions.

  • Prepares information for business plans, operating budgets, and financial meetings with key stakeholders for respective areas of responsibility

  • Partner with Product Development Teams to develop and implement processes for new products that align with common platform part design, common platform processing, and supplier rationalization.

  • Lead a multi-functional team through the new product introduction process­ taking projects from concept through to production launch.

  • Provides leadership to respective functional sub-team members

  • Coordinates communications with functional areas

  • Responsible for engaging functional managers throughout the program timeline to ensure alignment on resourcing and program deliverables. Communicates program direction, decisions and changes to site functions.

  • Develops and monitors key performance indicators and achieves objectives against the project plans.

  • Actively participates in all team meetings and works effectively with all program team members (e.g., R&D, Commercial, supply chain).

  • Prepares stage gate review materials for respective functional area

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline

  • Project Management Certified or equivalent

  • Experienced in product development life cycle & PDP

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
