Data Engineer, Data & Analytics Team

Specifically, this position will have the responsibility to:

  • Design and develop reliable, scalable and maintainable data pipelines to support business functions

  • Work with business teams and subject matter experts to understand complex datasets and gather requirements to create and manage data models

  • Develop scalable and sustainable data transformations that curate, clean and store data efficiently

  • Ensure high performance and reliability of data pipelines

  • Perform data profiling, harmonize a wide variety of data sets

  • Keep up to date with technologies and use advanced cloud data warehouse techniques to build innovative solutions

  • Perform bug fixes, apply enhancements to the data models/pipelines as when the need arises

  • Manage Small to Medium Data and Analytics projects

  • C omply with all policies and standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field

  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a data engineer or data analyst

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of SQL and Python to wrangle, clean, and integrate data from a variety of sources

  • Demonstrated understanding of modern data warehouse design principles and data engineering best practices

  • Previous experience in building ETL pipelines

  • An astute individual, with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.

  • Excited at the prospect of developing and implementing new tools and processes that add organizational value & improve decision making capabilities

  • A bright, ambitious person, with strategic capabilities, able to lead change, influence and collaborate both internally and externally, and with a clear commitment to delivering business results in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Master's Degree in a quantitative field

  • Professional experience in developing data engineering pipelines for high-volume data.

  • Demonstrated experience with Airflow, dbt, Terraform and Git

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience working on Cloud data warehouses like Snowflake

  • Experience managing small to medium analytics projects would be an advantage

  • Experience coaching/mentoring junior team member would be an advantage
