Team/Role Overview

The Chief Risk Office (CRO) Data Quality & Governance Lead will be a Senior Vice President roe that is part of the Citibank Europe Plc (CEP) Enterprise & Governance Risk team. The team is responsible for providing a holistic view on the risk management function which includes the development and implementation of risk identification, risk frameworks and policies, risk appetite setting, risk data quality, independent risk management formal assurance and oversight of model risk. In addition, the team coordinates risk reporting and provides input into key CEP governance documents such as the Strategic Plan, ICAAP, Recovery Plan and Pillar III and Financial Disclosures. The team works alongside other Risk teams – Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk, Risk Analytics – all reporting into the CEP Chief Risk Officer.

The CEP CRO Data Quality & Governance Lead will be responsible for driving improvements to risk data quality & related data governance oversight processes for the CEP Independent Risk Management function.

What you’ll do

• Identification and oversight of data quality risk to provide assurance to the CEP CRO that all reasonable steps are in place to reduce data quality risk for CEP’s Independent Risk Management function.

• Ensuring CEP CRO specific data quality requirements are identified.

• Developing data quality metrics and controls for CEP CRO and oversees all CEP CRO data quality remediation delivery.

• Overseeing any necessary outsourcing arrangements in line with the European Banking Authority guidelines.

• Supporting other enterprise& governance risk activities i.e., Risk Identification, Formal Assurance, Risk Disclosures, Risk Governance, Risk Frameworks/Policies.

• Assisting in ensuring that enterprise & governance risk component of relevant audits, inspections and reviews are completed successfully. Ensure that any enterprise & governance risk follow up actions raised by internal and external audits are diligently performed.

What we’ll need from you

• Strong knowledge of Data Governance frameworks, practices and related operational processes supporting risk data quality.

• Experience in the practical application and implementation of Data Governance Framework; ideally in a large financial institution.

• Excellent communication skills to guide, influence and negotiate internally across stakeholders in all lines of defence, and with auditors and regulatory authorities.

• Ability to succinctly deliver compelling presentations and influence executive audiences.

• Knowledge of Risk data flow systems and technology in a large financial institution would be highly desirable.

• Experience across risk management, quantitative, risk governance or regulatory-based roles would be beneficial.

• Excellent knowledge of Risk Management guidance from European and other international regulators would be beneficial.

• Proven ability in cross-functional project and stakeholder management.

• Ability to drive innovation via thought leadership while maintaining end-to-end view.

• Intellectual curiosity to stay abreast of regulatory and industry advances.

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree, in a quantitative discipline.
