Amazon Videography Manager, Visual Innovation Services in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Description

Amazon is looking for an experienced and accomplished Videography Manager to play the leadership role in defining breakthrough imaging solutions for our studios. The incumbent will bring innovation to high volume imaging workflows, reducing the operational cost while improving the quality of imagery produced. The Creative Manager is required to stay at the forefront of visual content within online retailing, ensuring that Amazon is ahead of the curve and ready to incorporate relevant solutions into the customer experience.

The successful candidate will be a motivated individual who will manage all aspects of video production from concept through final delivery, ensuring that all elements confirm to the core tenants of the specific video format or program and the creative vision. In this role the qualified candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of a team of photographers and videographers. The role includes executing creative direction, creating category specific templates, establishing procedures, building production workflows, and ensuring visual consistency across multiple projects and categories, While continuously raising the bar on quality.

The position requires close collaboration with a large international team of studios, imaging operations managers and business stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage a team of Photographers and Stylists responsible to produce the highest quality imaging (Photo, Video, Multimedia) for all products at scale.

• Sustain and evolve the Digital workflow and related Digital Asset Management (DAM) functions by working with the Digital Technicians and regional/global stakeholders

• Maintain consistently high standards for accuracy, aesthetics, and productivity

• Work with business partners and global stakeholders to define customer problems, and build innovative scalable solutions/processes with global impact from the ground up and execute large scale team projects

• Develop techniques and best practices for shooting new categories/projects, and disseminate those practices worldwide

• Attend weekly program or business reviews, understand and respond to customer data or anecdotes, participate in periodic video content strategy discussions and workshops.

• Develop and evolve creative workflows and technical SOPs for Amazon’s photo studios

• Interact directly with external teams to provide and receive visual guidance, implement process improvements and deploy new visual formats

• Interact with business partners and experimentation teams, to test solutions and analyze data for process improvements and new initiatives

• Ensure creation of robust training and process documentation

• Foster an environment of multidisciplinary collaboration and creative problem-solving

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in photography or related field

• Professional photography or videography portfolio that demonstrates a expert-level knowledge of digital imaging, including lighting, design principles, colour management, and aesthetics

• Extensive documented experience in commercial photography/videography, across an array of client environments, including editorial, catalog, advertising, and e-commerce

• Experience in managing a team of creatives, studio or imaging related functions

• Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of workflow including prioritization, planning, and task delegation under tight deadlines

• Experience successfully leading teams/functions through change

• Technical experience with transition to hybridized still and video platforms

• Expert-level proficiency with the industry-standard software tools

• Expert-level proficiency with DSLR functionality (both still and video) as well as all standard studio lighting techniques (Strobe and Continuous)

• Proficient working knowledge of still and videography software for Mac and PC platforms

• Working knowledge of PhotoShop and Capture One Pro

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines

• Obsession with delighting customers and innovation

Preferred Qualifications

• Min 5 yrs. of work experience as a professional photographer or videographer in the advertising/fashion/lifestyle domain.

• Portfolio or showreel demonstrating experience in imaging for reputed brands, publications and advertising agencies.

• Proficient with industry standard photography and video software’s i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects etc.

• Accustomed to the high intensity level of an e-commerce studio environment, and ability to thrive under tight deadlines

• Self-driven and able to effectively communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a multi-team environment

• Productivity-focused and proven to be a quick problem solver

• Accomplished in hiring, developing and leading high performing teams and individuals

• Deep understanding of all stages of the photography process, and ability to provide direction to the team to execute

• Proficiency with basic scripting and high-volume digital workflows

• Fluency in Arabic language
