Job Description:
The Principal Hook Up & Commission Engineer is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab)-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. The Principal Hook Up & Commission Engineer may be responsible for leading Functional Teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab). As such, they must have in-depth expertise in Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab) as well as broad knowledge of the Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab) discipline within the Fabrication function.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations during the hook-up & commissioning phase, following company policies and procedures.
• Generate and review technical documentation, including procedures, manuals, and reports, to capture lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
• Monitor and control project-related costs, schedule, and quality metrics during the hook-up & commissioning phase, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party agencies.
• Coordinate and supervise the hook-up & commissioning team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to enhance their performance and professional growth.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential project constraints, proposing innovative solutions and mitigation strategies.
• Lead and oversee the hook-up & commissioning activities for major projects within the EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) industry, ensuring their successful execution.
• Develop and implement comprehensive hook-up & commissioning plans, defining key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Project Management and Fabrication Teams to ensure seamless integration of hook-up & commissioning activities into the overall project timeline.
• Stay updated with advancements in hook-up & commissioning technologies, methodologies, and industry trends, integrating them into project execution strategies.
Essential Qualifications and Educations:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering).
• Proven experience of at least nine (9) years in hook-up & commissioning activities within the EPCI industry, including significant exposure to offshore and onshore projects.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, such as API, ISO, and ASME, and demonstrated ability to oversee compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
• Expertise in project management methodologies and software tools, ensuring efficient planning, scheduling, and resource optimization.
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing multidisciplinary teams and driving high-performance outcomes.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve complex technical issues during hook-up & commissioning operations.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables, while adhering to project constraints and deadlines.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, enabling the management of multiple concurrent projects and tasks.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, while maintaining a proactive and results-driven approach.
