General Duties

Solicit and market existing and new Business members. Provide information and address benefits of membership; Address needs of members by promoting all Chamber events and member opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain good member relations
• Solicit potential new members and maintain existing business membership base
• Provide social media promotion, advertising, email marketing, monthly e-newsletter and bi-weekly podcast
• Oversee, verify, and update all member information
• Assist with fundraising and sponsorship opportunities
• Aid visitors and answer general questions about businesses, Chamber operations, and community activities
• Occasional public speaking, education, and training events
• Assist in planning and implementation of Chamber events; specifically, New Member promotion and events
• Provide support and assist of overall Chamber operations
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Experience/Education

• Experience working with the public in a pleasant and professional manner
• Must be willing to make sales calls and record information accurately
• Demonstrate computer skills
• Demonstrate good communications skills, both verbally and written
• Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making abilities
• Show initiative in membership development and retention
• Desire to work closely with Chamber members and staff for the good of the organization

The successful candidate will need the following qualifications:

• Exceptional leadership skills.
• A passion for community, and the ability to effectively advocate the interests of our business members.
• A business degree and/or business management experience preferred.
• Exceptional marketing, spelling, social media, and Microsoft office.
• Verbal and written communication.
• Strategic thinking, creative thinking and planning.
• Event planning, budgeting, and fundraising are helpful but willing to train.
