DRIPPING SPRINGS INDEPENDENT Child Care Provider in Dripping Springs, Texas
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for the management, or assisting in management, of assigned classroom.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to interact with children, campus staff, and parents.
- General knowledge of child development.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Child Care
- Supervise children's play in room and on playground at all times, assuring their health and safety.
- Lead, or assist lead teacher, in more formal lesson plan groups.
- Maintain a developmentally appropriate environment for the children.
- Ensure that each child receives individual attention; provide positive guidance to help children develop the ability to be self-discipline. Correct children's behavior as appropriate.
- Coordinate with coworkers for the smooth running of the facility.
- Assist in food preparation.
- Develop a friendly relations and open communication with each child and his/her parents.
Safety and Sanitation
- Oversee activities of student workers, observers, substitutes and volunteers.
- Maintain responsibility for the arrangement, tidiness and organization of classroom.
- Follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.
- Keep garbage/diaper collection containers and areas neat and sanitary.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Maintain personal appearance and hygiene.
- Administer medication as directed to children.
- Perform emergency evacuation procedures as required by drills or actual event.

- Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None; technical oversight of others on occasion.
Equipment Used:
Cribs, changing tables, walkers, baby buggies.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Continual standing, walking, pushing, and pulling; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and climbing, lifting and carrying. Must be able to carry a child up to 40 pounds, and safely lift and carry infants to changing table. Must be able to tolerate typical noise level of child care environment and operate in a multitask environment.
