Philips Senior R&D Project Leader in Drachten, Netherlands
As a Project Leader in Grooming & Beauty, you will have the exciting opportunity to oversee End-to-End product development, leading projects from the initial idea phase through to product launch.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead multiple projects within the Grooming & Beauty product category, managing budgets ranging from €10 million to €75 million. Team size varies from 10 to 100 members, depending on the project's scope and phase.
Ensure successful End-to-End delivery of new product introductions and related communications.
Collaborate with the Consumer Market Director and Category Program Manager to define the scope, objectives, and ambition of new product propositions based on business needs.
Work alongside the Category Program Manager to assess the time and cost requirements for product development, including technical features, platform architecture, and overall product launch.
Evaluate consumer and business requirements to identify the necessary internal technical departments for innovation, technologies, and standard modules to be used in the product.
Lead the product development phase in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, industrial designers, engineers, quality experts, consumer researchers, and procurement teams.
Once product development is complete, oversee the implementation of production processes and equipment, either within the Supply Chain or with key suppliers abroad, using the OEM/ODM model .
Ensure transparent management of commitments across the business, markets, and supply chain, ensuring alignment throughout the End-to-End process.
Regularly communicate project status, results, and progress with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring expectations are aligned.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
A Master’s degree in a technical field , preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 7 years of proven experience in managing international, multidisciplinary projects, ideally in Business-to-Consumer (B2C) sectors.
Engineering experience in product development, with additional experience in production being a plus.
Strong organizational sensitivity and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
A business-oriented mindset alongside a technical background, with a basic understanding of other disciplines such as marketing, purchasing, and design.
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong eagerness to learn and a can-do attitude.
