Allied Machine & Engineering Manufacturing Engineer in Dover, Ohio
Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of holemaking and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications.
Allied is currently looking for a strong process engineer with metallurgical experience to plan, organize, manage, and monitor the necessary activities of metallurgical analysis. This includes, but is not limited to, batch to batch performance, equipment maintenance, and instrument calibration. This position must work closely with operations to assure quality is maintained lot to lot.
This position is on-site at our 485 W. 3rd St. Dover, Ohio facility

Responsibilities:
Lead maintenance on all production furnace and ancillary equipment.
Support and improve processes in the metallurgy operation.
Evaluate process and equipment, simulate, optimize and modify for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
Collaborate with equipment manufacturers, steel suppliers, and operations as a technical resource on current and future improvement as well as expansion projects.
Create/Modify manufacturing work instructions, SOP's, training manuals, and other relevant documentation to ensure adherence to existing and newly established processes.
Train associates on department procedures.
Ability to operate and set-up the equipment throughout the facility and perform hands-on duties.
Provide on-site or on-call support outside of normal working hours as needed.
Obtain required training and skill development for position specific skills and persoal development. Must be able to travel as needed.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Material Science or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
Preferred Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
Experience:
Preferred minimum 5 years' experience in vacuum heat-treating operations.
Preferably with PM, and MIM technology.
Minimum 3 years' experience in use of Six Sigma DMAIC preferred.
SPC and CAD experience preferred.
Skills:
Must possess leadership abilities and high personal, professional values and attention to detail.
Computer: MS Office Suite and CAD Software.
Good understanding and knowledge of manufacturing process.
Must be willing to travel if needed.
