Summary:
Maintenance Worker performs a variety of general and planned maintenance duties such as plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, painting, grounds maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain boilers and auxiliary equipment for producing steam for heat, sterilization, and other purposes.
Operate and maintain chill water plant and auxiliary equipment for producing chilled water for cooling.
Operate and maintain all mechanical support equipment.
Conduct rounds of all mechanical spaces while maintaining proper operating logs.
Assists in Fire, Emergency, and all other drills.
Contribute effectively to the accomplishment of Hospital and offsite clinics goals, objectives, and activities.
Proficiency in building maintenance systems.
Must be self-directed and able to handle prioritization successfully making good decisions in minimal time.
Demonstrate courtesy, compassion, patience, and respect. Communicates with all customers in a respectful, positive, and professional manner.
Demonstrated ability to maintain poise in highly stressful situations and de-escalate conflicts.
Must possess strong organizational, management and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities/projects at one time.

Other Information:
Plumbing and HVAC licensing/experience is a plus but not a requirement of this position.
Previous experience with computerized preventive maintenance programs is a plus but not a requirement of this position.
6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday.
On call rotating schedule
State of Maine Stationary Steam Engineer License or expected to be certified and licensed within 12 months of hire.
