Wage Scale $20.00 to $25.00
Dexter Healthcare makes available an every weekend scheduling option to CNAs newly hired in the Nursing department on a limited basis. Employees must make a commitment to enroll in the program for twenty-six (26) consecutive weekends (six months). During this period, the employee will be scheduled to work a minimum of three (3) twelve (12) hour or two(2) sixteen (16) hour shifts per weekend.
For the purpose of defining this program, the “weekend” begins on Friday at 6:30am and ends on Monday evening at 7:00pm.

A premium differential of $5.00 per hour will be paid for hours actually worked within the defined weekend time. This premium is in addition to any and all weekend differentials.

A Certified Nursing Assistant’s Job Responsibilities:
Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
Assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs.
Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
Protects organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential.
Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure.
Enhances nursing department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
CNA Skills and Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Knowledge of relevant nursing care
Friendly and professional bedside manner
Maintains current CPR certification
Multi-tasking skills
Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills
Understands legal implications of patient care
CNA Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED
Must be a graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and on the Maine CNA Registry.
Able to work scheduled shifts, committing to being there for your team and Residents.
Must be able interact our computer-based Electronic Medical Record system.
