Overview
The VP of Global Marketing and Communications will oversee all of the internal and external marketing for the FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies (FDB) global business. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external key stakeholders to bring to the next level in our marketing strategy development and execution. The ideal candidate has experience working in the biotech/biopharma industry, specifically for a Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). You will seek insight and understand the best practices in the industry from a marketing perspective.

Against this backdrop, there is a need for a Vice President of Global Marketing to be based in the US and have full global responsibility and accountability. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and global Head of Strategic Business Services and member of the executive leadership team, the VP of Global Marketing is a highly visible and impactful role within the organization with direct access and interaction with the executive leadership team.
The Vice President of Marketing should bring visionary insight, experience, and credentials to establish best practice within the organization. The VP will be responsible for challenging the status quo and determining “what good looks like” from the external market in relevant industries and sectors.
This individual will be the driving force behind the organization’s global marketing strategy and execution including long-term strategic aspirations and goals as well as elevating engagement with the commercial team and customers by leveraging a fresh approach to the digital footprint and multichannel marketing.
The role will be a combination of strategy (bringing in new ideas, thinking about the enterprise business, and planning and operating for the short-, mid-, and long-term) as well as operational (hands on, high level of engagement and connection with internal and external customers). Ability to deliver on both a strong long term strategy for evolving marketing as a central value driver and a dedicated focus on tactical success (“plan” → “do” → “show”) will be a prerequisite.
They will partner closely with the commercial team and drive accountability in this decentralized model.
Leading a team of 10-12 people globally, the Vice President of Marketing will grow, retain, and engage the team for maximum leverage across the organization. This person will inspire the team to stretch their creativity beyond technical marketing and foster an environment of ownership and accountability.
The Vice President of Marketing will also be responsible for establishing and leading a central Business Value Stream function and responsible for a leading and delivering on a coherent business value stream strategy, focusing on continuously ensuring that FDB maintains a strong position in the respective markets driven by a value proposition that clearly differentiates FDB.
It is essential that the Vice President of Marketing be externally facing – consistently attending conferences, acting as a thought-leader, being accessible, and frequently in front of clients.
Background Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus.
Minimum 10 years marketing experience within technology or life sciences organizations including but not limited to pharmaceutical/biotechnology, medtech, or contract manufacturing or research organization.
Strong B-2-B marketing experience with the US market is required. Additional global experience is a plus.
Minimum of five years of marketing leadership experience.
Experience designing innovative marketing and communication strategies, including leveraging digital approaches as effective B-2-B engagement channels.
Ability to think strategically by identifying and analyzing consumer and market insights and translating these into effective strategies.
Management experience including strategic and tactical planning, performance management, and project management.
Successful track record of leading and building strong teams, gaining internal alignment across teams, and leading by influence.
Ability to lead by example, attract and develop talent, build partnerships, and create a culture of collaboration and high performing teams that foster open communication, constructive feedback, and organizational flexibility while driving results.
Well-honed presentation skills and gravitas, to be able to present to and engage with executive leadership.
Excellent oral, written, verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Location
Ideally, this candidate will be located on the East Coast of the US. This is a remote position.
