Robert Half Compliance Administrator in Dover, Delaware

Description

Growing client within the Academia field is looking to hire a Compliance Administrator with proven experience using university or college accounting systems. In this Compliance Administrator role, you will be responsible for tasks which include ensuring that the department complies with relevant laws, regulations and internal guidelines. Duties will include serving as the compliance contact for grants and contract functions as well as portfolio management. This position is responsible for establishing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual department goals/priorities. This includes administering policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee grant-related post-award functions, including but not limited to budget analysis, expense analysis, and financial reporting.

  • Regularly review compliance issues with the Accounting Director, discussing deadlines, potential risks, and regulatory issues.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives for growth and quality assurance.

  • Provide compliance guidance and training to other staff members, with the aim of enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Ensure that staff members adhere to quality compliance standards.

  • Develop and implement internal compliance programs, coordinate training and education for staff and the university campus.

  • Review existing practices continuously, identifying potential compliance risks.

  • Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Programs and funding agency to ensure seamless service from pre-award through post-award.

  • Perform compliance tasks associated with the general ledger.

  • Conduct internal audits of data and documentation for each grant-related award.

    Requirements

The ideal Compliance Administrator will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.

Other requirements for the Compliance Administrator role include and are not limited to:

  • 4+ years experience in grant accounting

  • Federal, state, and local grant expertise required

  • 3+ years of leadership experience (must have led a team of 2+ individuals)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience using Banner (preferred) or other university or college accounting system desired.

  • Strong US GAAP knowledge
