Job Description Summary
The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist is a licensed individual who holds a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology. Primary job responsibilities include providing speech and language evaluations and treatments to inpatients and outpatients upon receipt of a physician’s referral. The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist will be engaged in services for all age groups (from birth to 100+ years).
Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited program. Licensure: Licensed within the State of Alabama. Must hold Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology. Experience: Prefer at least one (1) year experience in acute care or rehabilitation setting. Skills proficiency: Able to pass the proficiency checklist specific to the Speech Therapy Department.
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to communicate in Standard English both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency setting.
SKILLS:
Knowledge of Speech-Language Pathology as it relates to the acute care setting. Basic typing and computer skills including operating a personal computer in a Windows environment. Skills Proficiency knowledge specific to the Speech Therapy Department.
