Job Description Summary
The Adjunct Faculty member at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) will provide educational services primarily to first- and second-year osteopathic medical students. The Adjunct Faculty is responsible for the educational development of ACOM students. Individuals in this position work both in the classroom and out‐of‐classroom settings to develop and disseminate technical/scientific knowledge to ACOM students to motivate them toward their full professional attainment in the medical field. The individual in this position reports directly to the Associate Dean of Anatomical Sciences and Molecular Medicine. The Adjunct Faculty member will also contribute to student advising and remediation efforts as needed.
Job Description
Essential Functions
Promote the mission of ACOM to faculty, staff, students, and the community
Provide lectures and other instructional methodologies to medical students.
Develop and implement curriculum components.
Mentor and advise medical students.
Opportunity to serve on departmental and college committees.
Opportunity to engage in community outreach and service initiatives.
Opportunity to interview applicants for the D.O. program.
Ensures that coarse and student outcomes are met though teaching, learning and experimental experiences.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience Preferred
- Academic experience in an osteopathic institution or other medical college.
Minimum Education Required
- PhD or earned Doctorate in the discipline they will be teaching
