Job Title: Feed Delivery Driver

A Day in the Life:

As a Feed Delivery Driver, your main duty is the safe operation of company semi tractor-trailers and/or straight trucks while delivering bag and bulk feeds to patrons and company branches in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. You will pick up and deliver feed products from serving mills and warehouses and assist with organizing and scheduling feed deliveries. You will also observe proper feed sequencing and delivery procedures and complete, organize, and file required logs, flushing procedures and recorded documents with accuracy. You will also assist with warehousing and customer service duties as needed. You will need to follow all DOT regulations, do daily pre-trip inspections and maintenance of your vehicle, safely transport daily freight, and communicate efficiently with the dispatcher. You will be out and about on highways in company vehicles, so good driving practices is a must as you are representing the Farmers Cooperative image. When you are not doing deliveries, you will be expected to assist in the day to day feed mill operations including maintenance, housekeeping, manufacturing, and inventory. This is a skilled position requiring a dedicated individual who has a good work ethic and a strong attendance record. You will be expected to work hard, and you will have to work more hours during busy seasons. This is an extremely skilled position requiring an individual that takes pride in their work, pays attention to details, and upholds Farmers Cooperative policies, mission, and core values. The Cooperative operates under the all hands-on deck philosophy when it comes to getting things done. Therefore, employees are required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.

What Youll Need to Do This Job:

High School Diploma and/or equivalent Proper CDL for designated truck Farming or agriculture background/knowledge preferred Highly motivated self-starter Excellent written and oral communication Basic computer skills Excellent customer service skills The ability to think clearly and problem solve The desire to be involved in agriculture and work for a cooperative Physically, this position requires you to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and crawl on a regular basis This position requires you to climb ladders and climb in and out of trucks all day. You must be able to regularly lift at least 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds You will be exposed to grain, feed and livestock dust, odors, gasses as well as mud and livestock wastes You must be flexible with your schedule as more hours will be expected during peak demand seasons and you may be asked to help with the unloading/loading of trains at grain facilities
