The Opportunity

This position is based out of our Donegal site in the Abbott Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As a Finance Team Leader, you’ll have the chance to work with an innovative Finance as well as cross functional teams in our diabetes care business.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage, coach and develop a team of two Finance Analysts.

  • Operate as a business partner to operations and other support functions, with strong integration into the business.

  • Prepare and coordinate Annual Plan and quarterly forecast submissions to the ADC Division head office.

  • Support, maintain and enforce site Financial Control requirements (aligned w/ Ireland and Corporate Financial Policies).

  • Involvement in Site Strategy Projects / Annual Improvement Priorities / Lean 6 Sigma projects

  • Maintain site standard cost data and SCOP (Standard Cost of Production).

  • Prepare, analyse, and review manufacturing variances, such as PPV (Purchase Price Variance, MUV and Distressed Inventory.

  • Prepare, submit and present monthly reporting submissions to division, entity and site management.

  • Manage and track the site Gross Margin Improvement Programme.

  • Provide Financial Stewardship to the site through e.g. site spend management, financial awareness sessions, etc.

  • Support Capital Planning, Requests for Capital Expenditure and Capital / Project Expense monitoring.

  • Deputise in the absence of the Plant Controller

EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accountancy qualification.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting.

  • Minimum 6 years of Accounting or Finance experience in a similar role.

  • Financial Planning &/or Cost Accounting experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
