McDermott IT Pillar Specialist - S3D Administration in Doha, Qatar
Job Overview:
The IT Pillar Specialist is responsible for applying existing knowledge and experience in the IT Pillar (IT) discipline to support routine assignments. They will use best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve products or services in the IT Pillar (IT) discipline.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate/control with various disciplines, PMT & client on execution of the project
Create and maintain the S3D Project Data base and Project Plant structure (with Oracle/MS SQL Server)
Manage the project SP3D set up and customization activities for all disciplines and modules.
Create and maintain Piping Specifications for S3D (from SPRD output files) – should be able to identify, rectify errors in SPRD Specification bulk load sheets and load & validate the specs in S3D
Should be able to coordinate with SPRD / SPRD team to prepare specifications and provide MTO for bulk loading to SPRD
Actively involve during the S3D project definition, implementation, execution
Schedule and validate all S3D database back-ups for the project
Create and Maintain Plot files
Creation and maintenance of Orthographic Drawing set up & template customization (all disciplines and types of drawings) to meet client requirements
Creation and maintenance of isometric drawing set up and isometric trouble shooting
Recovery of files as requested by the project
Support and configuration of the following modules for use within S3D
Piping, structural, Electrical, Instrumentation & Mechanical (all disciplines)
Interference Detection (Clash Checks)
SmartPlant Review creation
Drawing template creation and customization of all discipline deliverables
Creation and Maintenance of S3D reference Data catalogues
Catalogue mapping and data updates management in SPRD and bulk load specifications to S3D environment
Pipe & Tray Supports configuration – to incorporate MDR standards in S3D and extract support drawings & reports as per MDR requirement.
Spool ISO configuration as per MDR requirement – in S3D and SpoolGen software
Conduct internal S3D user training for all disciplines (for all modules - modeling, drawing extraction, reports, isometrics etc.)
Configure and create custom templates for various types of reports (MTOs/Weights/COGs/etc.)
Should be able to prepare work instructions and procedures for performing various S3D work flow and tasks
Should be able to coordinate with SRD / SRD team to prepare specifications and provide MTO for bulk loading to SPRD
Good exposure to detail engineering in any of the engineering disciplines (piping, structural, E&I)
Should be able to gather & understand requirements from all discipline and be able to support the team
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Minimum 4-8 years’ experience in S3D Administration with a reputed engineering organization in the oil and Gas industry
Utilizes current systems technology, tools and processes to achieve these aims. Good understanding of engineering practices & project execution concepts
Strong understanding of current engineering design, drafting applications and engineering data integration software packages
Formal training in 3D application and multiple project execution exposure essential.
Should be able to S3D programming using .NET to customize S3D
Good working knowledge of CAD Applications
Knowledge of Visual Basic, VBA, SQL programming & CAD application scripts.
Well versed in the various aspects of plant design (Codes and Standards) for the oil and Gas industry in a 3D Model environment
