Job Posting Summary

The Campus Safety Office Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of the Campus Safety Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains office services by organizing office systems, including managing correspondence and designing filing systems.

  • Greet visitors and ensures a welcoming and professional environment.

  • Supervises and directs student worker staff.

  • Responsible for reviewing and approving supply requisitions as well as researching services and pricing. Make recommendations to departmental management.

  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, monitoring, and scheduling expenditures, analyzing trends and variances. Initiates corrective action when necessary.

  • Processes quotes, creates Purchase Orders and makes timely submissions for payment.

  • Maintains department records, researches, analyzes data, prepares reports, edits and formats documents and presentations, and produces standard reports.

  • Maintains liaison with other college departments and outside vendors. Audits and tracks invoices for service.

  • Assist affiliates with obtaining parking permits and payment/resolution of parking infractions.

  • Review and respond to daily internal and external email and telecalls.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • A detail-oriented approach to tasks.

  • Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Must have solid judgement and be capable of strong communication and problem-solving.

  • Must have solid skills and experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite of products as well as the ability to consolidate data for reports.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high regard for detail is required.

  • Strong customer service experience and the ability to professionally greet staff, visitors and students, serve as a resource and coordinate requests with multiple stakeholders

  • Must be capable of working collegially with diverse groups of faculty, staff, students and community members.

  • Experience with timely and efficient execution of special projects

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • A minimum of one to three years of administrative experience with progressive responsibilities

    Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to cope with a high volume of foot traffic.

  • Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per college policies

  • May be asked to work beyond normal working hours as needed.

    Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:

Deferred Compensation Plan

All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.

Defined Contribution Plan

Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.

If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
