Catholic Health Initiatives Manager Nursing ER in Dickinson, North Dakota
Overview
As our Nurse Manager in ER Stroke and Trauma programs at St. Alexius Health Dickinson, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, you’ll oversee the ER department of frontline nurses and act as the conduit between these caregivers and leadership teams. You will communicate the organization’s goals to the nursing staff as we constantly seek to improve patient experiences, reach out to our community, and deliver quality care. At the same time, you will advocate for your team by bringing any issues, requests, or new ideas from them to leadership.
CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care assisted and residential living communities community health services organizations home health agencies and numerous outpatient facilities.
We are offering a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility are focused on the Emergency Department, including oversight of ER, Trauma program, Stroke program, managing the APP schedule in the ER, and other areas, as assigned.
Drives patient satisfaction, quality, and safety metrics through visionary leadership, incident review, policies and procedures, training, ongoing evaluation, and performance improvement programs
Bridges the gap between management and staff by serving as a liaison, communicating company direction and vision with employees and sharing employee feedback with senior leadership
Drives employee performance through effective staff development, accountability, conflict resolution, mentoring, communication, performance management, total rewards, and team-building
Develops and maintains tools and resources to support employee competency within the department including departmental orientation, competency checklists, job aides, job descriptions, policies, procedures, and communication tools
Strives for continuous improvement in the department by identifying issues, conducting root cause analyses, implementing solutions, evaluating efficacy, and adapting to continually improve
Envisions, recommends, evaluates, and deploys new programs, services, certifications, or awards that advance the offerings of the department or organization as a whole, meet a community need, or otherwise better serve the organization and its stakeholders
Ensures the department is adequately staffed by overseeing recruitment, selection, and scheduling; establishing and enforcing minimum staffing guidelines; and providing direct patient care when required
Serves as a role model of the organization’s mission, vision, and core values in his or her daily work, modeling the behavior expected of staff and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions
Represents department in interdisciplinary meetings
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required.
Required Licensure and Certifications
RN license, North Dakota (compact license or license issued by the ND Board of Nursing).
American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card (BLS) (30 days of hire).
ACLS (6 months of hire)
TNCC (1 year of hire)
PALS (1 year of hire)
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Candidates must be proficient with computers:
Applications used in the healthcare setting.
Microsoft Office Suite/ Google applications and Gmail platform.
Pay Range
$35.28 - $51.16 /hour
