Staff Engineer - Product Engineering
The Staff Engineer role is responsible for independently managing the coordination of designing new and existing products. This position is responsible for being the technical resource for major commercialization activities while providing technical experience for new and existing product related issues. This position collaborates with different internal departments for prototyping, testing procedures, manufacturing capabilities/ specifications, and CAPEX creation.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with various internal departments and customers on launching new products and packages to help achieve customer goals while managing Niagara’s objectives and policies.
Responsible for managing the front-end development scope of projects.
Responsible for creating the CAPEX budget for new development projects
Provide leadership and technical recommendations for product/packaging requirements and solutions for any issues raised by the customers.
Manage the project planning and product commercialization process through detailed project management and technical guidance.
Collaborates regularly with internal department teams.
Research new technologies, packaging opportunities and be the lead on exploratory projects to drive more revenue growth for the business.
Provide training and educate new sales team and internal department team members on the engineering department scope and product capabilities across Niagara network.
Extensive experience in Beverage capabilities, internal equipment landscape and packaging products to independently build financial business proposals for sales opportunities.
Provide direction and input for project planning and provide technical and design recommendations in project evaluation.
Develop beverage equipment and process specifications to satisfy requirements of current products and future products.
Initiate RFQ and collaborate with other teams to establish required specifications/parameters for beverage process equipment, including batching, thermal processing and filler.
Collaborate with vendors, corporate project managers and operations to support beverage equipment installation and ensure successful commissioning.
Work with appropriate cross functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to streamline equipment reliability.
Identify cost savings opportunities and develop business plans to realize the savings.
Manager, motivate, coach, and continually develop a team of New Product Development Engineers.
Travel requirement of 0% to 25% (domestic and international).

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
6 Years – Years of Experience in Beverage Manufacturing / Engineering or other related fields.
6 Years – Years of Experience in Product Development or other related fields
6 Years – Experience managing people/projects
*experience may include a combination of work experience and education
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ Years – Years of Experience in Beverage Manufacturing / Engineering environment
10+ Years – Experience managing people/projects
Competencies
Advance Microsoft Office Skills
5+ years background leading new project management in product launches and/or product changes from planning to execution
Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
Detail oriented; able to work independently and with limited direction
Excellent understanding of product development processes and different manufacturing processes like hot-fill, cold-fill, aseptic, etc.
Strong attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement.
Ability to work well in collaborative cross-functional team environments
Ability to work independently and with limited direction
Able to problem solve and use discretion in dealing with proprietary and confidential information.

$117,858.39 - $167,948.22 / Yearly
