Associate Project Manager (Embedded)

The Associate Project Manager (Embedded) is responsible to plan, implement, manage and successfully complete the company’s major capital projects as assigned by the Director of Project Management. This position will at times provide support to an Engineering Project Manager and will at times interface with developers, architects, general contractors, engineering firms, permitting jurisdictions and are responsible to directly manage and supervise Niagara’s chosen contractors and OEM’s. The scope of the project work will be wholly owning the infrastructure installation, support and production equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and ramping the production line up to pass an acceptance trial. This will be for a beverage new line installation project that will be identified up front. At the end of that project the position will be transitioned to the local operations team. A position will be identified at that time based on the needs of the facility and the team members strengths.

Essential Functions

  • Provides input to the project design and directly manages the construction, equipment installation and commissioning process

  • Actively monitors the project schedule and makes the necessary changes to stay on track

  • Leads daily/weekly project management meetings with Niagara’s contractors to review project timelines, milestones, budgets and allocations of resources

  • Participates in weekly general contractor meetings as Niagara’s representative when applicable

  • Ensures projects are implemented in accordance Niagara’s policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, good manufacturing practices (GMP’s), quality and generally accepted construction and equipment installation methods

  • Collaborates with the plant director, plant engineer and maintenance manager for a seamless transition at the conclusion of the project and handoff to the plant

  • Relocates to be local (daily driving) to the project site

  • Collaborates with internal departments such as quality, packaging, program, manufacturing, systems engineering, IT, beverage development, process design engineering, and product engineering

  • Collaborates onsite to manage the commissioning and validation of the new equipment

  • Drives the OEM to take the line from start of commercial production until the line passes the acceptance trial per the contractual requirements.

  • Willingness to be in operational manufacturing role long term

  • Focus on production, maintenance, continuous improvement functions to help drive efficiency improvement of the production lines

  • Use project experience with beverage technology to benefit the ramp up of the production line and ultimately to improve line efficiency long term with the operational team

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 Years – Experience in Construction & Equipment Installation field

  • 4 Years – Experience in Position, Food Or Plastics Manufacturing

    *experience may include a combination of work experience and education

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 Years – Experience in Construction & Equipment Installation field

  • 6 Years – Experience in Position, Food Or Plastics Manufacturing

Competencies

  • Above average project and individual time management skills

  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written, to all levels of internal and external recipients

  • Experience in managing multi-million dollar projects

  • Above average skills in planning, budgeting, schedule tracking, and cost controls

  • Smartsheets experience is a plus

  • Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point and MS Project

Education

  • Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any type of Engineering and other related fields or equivalent experience

  • Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in any type of Engineering

Typical Compensation Range

Pay Rate Type: Salary

$93,825.00 - $131,354.00 / Yearly
