Essential functions (job duties):

The University Counselor Assistant II in the Ilitch School of Business Career Office will report to the Director of the Ilitch School of Business Career Office. The individual in this position will collaborate closely with the Director and the University Counselor II and will assist with the Ilitch School’s Corporate Mentor Program and will also assist with our students with resume development, career selection and development, interview skills, etc.

Provide support for the Ilitch School of Business Corporate Mentor Program (CMP), including working with prospective and current students interested in CMP.

Utilize a mentor/mentee software package to assist with the onboarding of mentors and mentees, including assisting with overseeing these relationships.

Assist with the development of programming for the CMP mentors/mentees.

Provide career advising to Ilitch School of Business students and assist these students with resume development, interview skills, job search strategies, etc.

Present workshops to students on resume development, interview techniques and other career building opportunities.

Utilize Handshake to review and approve resumes, schedule appointments, and share information with employers regarding upcoming recruiting opportunities.

Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business.

Previous experience in a university career office.

Experience with Handshake and mentor/mentee program software packages.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work with a diverse student population.

Reliable and innovative and a commitment to working with a dedicated team of colleagues.

Demonstrated excellence in organizational skills and time management.
