Henry Ford Health System Sr Project Coor - Research Studies - 40 hrs/wk - Days - Detroit in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, designs, implements, and supervises research projects and provides technical support to investigators in the Research Studies. Responsibilities include providing project leadership; servicing as a system-wide resource within an established area of expertise; and initiating research proposals. Works with other system staff to design data collection systems and databases; designs data collection forms; manages databases; selects appropriate statistical methods for analysis; and prepares papers for publication and presentation. Serves as departmental and system resource on methods of studying the health care system. May supervise research assistants, programmers, data entry personnel, or project coordinators.

The Center for Health Policy and Health Services Research at Henry Ford Health is hiring a Senior Project Coordinator to join our team. The project manager will support several projects in the areas of chronic illness and/or prevention of illness. Topics of current studies include chronic pain, obesity, mental health, and/or substance use.

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Project Coordinator designs, implements, and supervises research projects and provides technical support. Responsibilities include providing project leadership; working with other system staff to design data collection systems and databases; designing data collection forms; and managing databases. Serves as departmental and system resource on methods of studying the health care system. May supervise research assistants, programmers, data entry personnel, or project coordinators. Projects can range from data-only studies to multisite clinical intervention studies. There may also be opportunities for grant and manuscript preparation, if that is of interest.

Desired qualifications include experience working with stigmatized health conditions, ability to communicate well with people with diverse backgrounds, and prior experience with grant-funded projects. Though not a requirement, this position would be a great fit for someone with clinical training in mental health, as delivering clinical interventions may also be possible.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Health Economics, or a closely related field and at least three years related experience.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Relevant post-graduate degree education may be substituted for some of the experience requirement.

  • Expertise required in research design, appropriate technical software, or statistics.

  • Previous supervisory experience desirable. Organizational and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written skills at a professional level.
