Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Manager

Job Description

Oversee shipping and receiving operations, plan office production, and act as a technical resource for the team. Review inbound and outbound waste streams and track all waste in compliance with company policy and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Supervise the Warehouse and Shipping Docks, including the 12 employees who work in these areas. Ensure daily production goals for inbound and outbound waste streams are met. Assist direct reports in the shipping process of various waste streams (non-hazardous waste, cloth material, paper products, non-hazardous liquids). Create and manage uniformed manifests and handle RCRA and DOT compliance situations. Teach and mentor employees on hazardous and regulated waste processing.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical resource for the team.

  • Review inbound and outbound waste streams.

  • Track all waste in compliance with company policy and applicable regulations.

  • Supervise Warehouse and Shipping Docks and manage a team of 12 employees.

  • Ensure daily production goals for inbound and outbound waste streams are met.

  • Assist direct reports in the shipping process of various waste streams.

  • Create and manage uniformed manifests.

  • Handle RCRA and DOT compliance situations.

  • Teach and mentor employees on hazardous and regulated waste processing.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • 2+ years of experience in hazardous and regulated waste processing (Reading & Creating Manifests).

  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

  • 2+ years of supervision experience with inbound and outbound shipping of hazardous materials and OSHA regulations.

  • RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) Training Certification standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 40-hour OSHA Certification preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves both office and warehouse work. The warehouse environment is fast-paced with shipments coming and going multiple times a day. Expect hot conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter. The position requires the ability to keep employees organized and focused on attention to detail.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $44.00/hr.
