Henry Ford Health System Research Project Coor I - 40 hrs/wk - Days - Detroit in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Works under the supervision of the Project Manager or Principal Investigator to coordinate sub-projects within the larger study. Sub-projects may be, but not limited to, organizing study meetings, events, logistics, mailings, etc; tracking participant and project status; serving as study contact; and writing protocols and IRB applications. Provides administrative support to project leads and able to interact with both internal and external customers at all levels.

The Center for Health Policy and Health Services Research at Henry Ford Health is hiring a research coordinator to join our team. The research coordinator will support several projects in the areas of chronic illness and/or prevention of illness. Topics of current studies include chronic pain, obesity, sexual health, HIV, mental health, and/or substance use.

Under the supervision and direction of the project manager or principal investigator, this position will work collaboratively to develop and refine intervention materials, organize study meetings, events, logistics, mailings, etc.; recruit participants and conduct participant outreach; track participant and project status; serve as study contact; assist with protocol and IRB application preparation; provide administrative support to project leads and able to interact with patients, research study team members, and others. Other duties as assigned.

This would be a great opportunity for someone interested in obtaining research experience before applying to graduate school or medical school. Desired qualifications include experience working with stigmatized health conditions, ability to communicate well with people with diverse backgrounds, and prior research experience, including on grant funded projects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in health care administration, health education, communication, social or political science or related field.

  • Experience in coordination and following protocols.
