Job Profile Summary:

The Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance Analyst will partner closely with key stakeholders including Internal Audit, Line of Business teams, Data Stewards, and Technology SMEs to drive data quality improvements within the Finance data ecosystem. Analyzes business data and other data relationships to evaluate and report on the level of data quality. Lead performer on data quality activities that support key compliance and regulatory processes. Perform data discovery, profiling and root cause analysis on data assets. Assist in developing recommendations and implement improvements to data quality controls and monitoring processes. Provide support to Finance data management team responsible for building out next generation data quality capabilities.

Job Description:

Our Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance Analyst position is a highly visible and impactful position that executes quality assurance testing over regulatory financial filings, including key bank call reporting, capital plan, and liquidity submissions (2052a). The primary responsibility will be to perform detailed testing to ensure data accuracy and conformance with regulatory instructions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial regulatory filings submitted to the Federal Reserve and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

The position will require the individual to mitigate risk by identifying errors throughout the End-to-End lifecycle of a transaction (data input, data transformation, and final reporting). In addition, analyst should be familiar with basic operational and ITGC control frameworks.

  • Perform quality assurance testing through validation of source documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy of various regulatory reports.

  • Ensures compliance with established regulatory reporting standards by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.

  • Lead process walkthroughs with business and technical stakeholders to understand and validate regulatory reporting production processes and related data supply chains.

  • Document testing in accordance with department and professional standards.

  • Work with Business & IT partners to assess identified issues for root cause.

  • Report and communicate all assessments to the appropriate personnel.

  • Assist with the review of issues remediation documentation.

  • Help build and maintain effective working relationships with partners across Regulatory Reporting, IT, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Segment Business Units.

  • Assist with ad-hoc investigations and peer reviews.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, or business field, and/or

  • 3+ years of experience in auditing, SOX, risk management, bank accounting/reporting experience, or other regulatory/compliance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CIA, with compliance/auditing experience preferred.

  • Experience should include work with, and a strong understanding of, bank reporting requirements

  • Experience of working independently to assess, improve and enhance a process and able to demonstrate a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate at all levels.

  • Able to efficiently manage multiple pieces of work simultaneously whilst keeping manager informed of issues and progress in a timely mannerStrong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Familiarity with basic SQL, Essbase, and/or Tableau as well as Axiom, OFSAA, BI Tools a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface and proactively engage with different levels of management

  • Ability to proactively manage issues and assignments, and move work forward with limited direction
