Henry Ford Health System Project Manager/Scrum Master - Full Time - Hybrid - Detroit in Detroit, Michigan
GENERAL SUMMARY:
As a member of the Clinically Integrated Network, manages various business and system related projects of a highly complex nature. These projects could be technical or functional in nature; most often they are cross-departmental. The projects can be executed in an Agile or Waterfall methodology, depending on the business area. This role will manage 1+ project(s) or scrum team(s) in their entirety. Supports Corporate Divisions and Departments in achievement of their strategic goals by assisting in the timely and cost-effective delivery of all projects with a professional, motivated, customer focused, and winning manner.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning:
Leads in planning projects, including requirements, design, construction, testing, acceptance, implementation, and post-implementation review of project deliverables.
Assesses and deliver appropriate project teams comprising of various department, customer, and vendor resources.
Prepares needs statement for additional non-Provider Network personnel.
Participates in the procurement of contractors/vendors for necessary work to be performed under a contractual agreement.
Provides assistance and mentors all Provider Network employees on project management related issues.
Defines and negotiates Project Scope and Deliverables.
Identifies costs and benefits of the project.
Obtains approval for projects, justifying the return on investment.
Plans and staff projects.
Plans and schedules user training related to the project’s implementation.
Documents and communicates process models, project scope, deliverables, and commitments.
Project Execution:
Leads complex initiatives to a successful conclusion.
Manages Project Teams and ensure that project resources are utilized in an effective and efficient manner.
Ensures Partnership Agreements are met or exceeded via the facilitation and resolution of barriers prohibiting the progress on projects by fostering creative, win-win solutions.
Produces project status reports, workplans, timelines, budget reports, risk management, issue lists, and project metrics.
Monitors progress, change control, issue resolution.
Manages scope change, issue resolution, and negotiate change in deliverables.
Ensures appropriate documentation for user manuals, training materials.
Provides feedback to line manager on team member performance.
Manages post implementation support.
Provides post implementation project review.
Guides and coaches the team to follow Agile/Scrum practices including daily standup meetings, sprint planning, code reviews, and appropriate decision-making methods.
Guides and coaches the team to become self-organized and efficient.
Helps the team assess their ‘Scrum Maturity’ and higher levels of maturity including the establishment of a target velocity and metrics reporting.
Manages and prioritizes the product backlog and resolves impediments that interfere with sprint schedules.
Is responsible for supporting and coaching the Product Owners and Business Partners on Agile/Scrum practices
Project Management Process Ownership:
Recommends and implements process changes to increase project and Corporate Program Management Office and Business Transformation execution performance.
Ensures leadership and internal and external resources assigned to projects learn and practice Provider Network’s Project Management Methodology.
Tactical Planning:
Assists in the review of technology and system applications to ensure cross platform continuity, reduce redundancy of hardware/software resources, and overall, ensure a proper fit into the Provider Network environment.
Assists with overall IT Strategic Planning.
Assists in determining annual planning according to resource and budget allocation.
Customer Service:
Partners with management to champion projects that support Provider Network’s Strategic Vision.
Ensures that all support and services delivered to the customers are completed with high quality, appropriate functionality, and in a timely cost-effective manner.
Ensures that all projects meet or exceed commitments made to the customer.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management or Computer Science with training in related project management systems.
Related and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of academic requirements. Related experience is defined as six (6) years of experience within IT, and/or Project Management.
Three (3) years of project management experience in running large projects of a complex nature.
Three (3) years of agile experience as a scrum master, or related experience.
Three (3) years project management experience applying technology and process improvement to areas such as project development and new product/process implementation.
Three (3) years of experience at all levels of system development projects with emphasis in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams evaluating and implementing technologies.
Two (2) years of experience in development of process and project methodologies.
Additional experience in Agile, Scrum, Project Management, Risk Management, Customer Service, Project/Resource Planning, Metrics Reporting, Systems Design, Application Development and/or Client Server Implementation.
