Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer with a strong bg in large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills, and will work well independently and in a team environment. This role offers a flexible remote work schedule, with occasional job site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical planning, biological process, and mechanical design and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects.

  • Prepare engineering calculations, run process models (i.e. Excel, GPS-X, etc.), and support analysis of alternatives.

  • Utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda, basis of design, business case evaluations, P&ID reports, and other documentation.

  • Prepare design reports and construction plans for treatment plants and pump stations using local and state standards.

  • Prepare and assist with specifications and permit submittals.

  • Assist with and review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.

  • Monitor task budget and progress.

  • Document design changes and communications.

  • Conduct on-site inspections and provide technical guidance for start-up as needed.

  • Prepare project status and other reports.

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals.

  • Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, and pre-construction meetings.

  • Maintain excellent client relations and a safe working environment.

  • Publish and present papers at state and national conferences.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

  • Licensed PE or ability to obtain one within 6-12 months.

  • 5+ years of experience working on water resource projects, including large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience is a plus.

  • Located within a 1-hour distance from any office is advantageous.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with wastewater, pumping stations, civil engineering, environmental engineering, and water treatment.

Work Environment

This position allows for a flexible remote work schedule. The role requires working 40-45 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Occasional job site visits may be necessary, with locations potentially including Michigan, Florida, Ohio, Nebraska, and other states. The company supports work-life balance through a flexible, hybrid work schedule, encouraging team collaboration in the office at least two days a week and virtual connections when working from home.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00
