Henry Ford Health System Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant Orthopedic Surgery Inpatient Detroit in Detroit, Michigan

  • This position would support the Detroit hospital campus for all orthopedic specialties requiring inpatient and ER consultations, not limited to but including fracture/dislocation reduction, splinting/casting, wound care management, and suturing.

  • Candidate will need to be comfortable working with residents and other APP's

  • Day position Monday-Friday, no weekends or call, but may need to assist with OITE coverage annually.

  • This will be a position in transition to creating an APP-led inpatient service.

  • The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

  • The Specialty/Invasive NP or Physician Assistant (PA) will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families.

  • Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.

  • Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Master's degree in nursing -OR- Requires a Bachelor's degree completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant .

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner, Current State license as a Registered Nurse or Michigan State PA licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA .

Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
