This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rocket Companies® Event Management Team – a team of energetic professionals that focus on supporting the Rock Family of Companies! Our team plans and executes special events, meetings, incentive travel, parties, awards shows, charity functions, and more. The goal is a world-class event, every time.
This intern position provides an opportunity for a graphic designer to apply their knowledge and skills to produce a broad range of finished products in the print and digital realm. Be prepared for multiple tasks, team collaboration, tight deadlines, high volume workloads and working with an outstanding and passionate team! You’ll be collaborating with multiple people and teams to produce motivating, creative and exceptional designs.
About the Role
Produce various digital & printed materials for events, including but not limited to signage, maps, invitations, and email communications
Maintain knowledge of graphic design trends and technologies
Take initiative and show continuous growth and knowledge
Display initiative in creative problem solving and seek a thorough understanding of deliverable objectives
Forecast changes and communicate possible issues to appropriate people
Set up working and final files responsibly and efficiently for print production
Strive to create the best user experience in print and digital projects while adapting quickly to our constantly changing event needs
May occasionally be required to assist with events
About You
Strong computer experience; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Possess a solid foundation of color, space, typography, and the formal design process
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills -- able to work (in an organized fashion) to meet deadlines on multiple projects with varying timelines
Must be a positive team player with an optimistic, enthusiastic attitude
Comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Able to think critically, ask questions and execute on tasks
Comfortable taking and following direction
Demonstrates a professional approach to giving and receiving feedback
Knowledge of the printing process, including proper file setup for print production and experience working directly with printing vendors
What’ll Make You Special
Bachelor’s degree in fine arts or graphic design
Experience working on a Mac platform in Adobe Creative Cloud
Working knowledge of web UI standards and best practices, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Interest or experience in event planning
