Clinical Coordinator, Licensed Social Worker

Essential functions (job duties):
As a Licensed Social Worker, the Clinical Coordinator will work within the Early Childhood Support Clinic (ECSC), a co-located clinic at Wayne Pediatrics, a community-based, outpatient clinic that serves pediatric patients beginning at birth. The Clinical Coordinator will develop and oversee implementation of trauma-informed screenings and assessments and will provide developmental guidance and relationship-based interventions for children aged 0-5 and their caregivers. The Clinical Coordinator will train and supervise Wayne State University Social Work student interns.
Develop and oversee the implementation of screenings and assessments and provide developmental guidance and interventions for infants and young children and their caregivers.
Develop a collaborative working relationship with Pediatric staff to best serve families utilizing county, state, and federal support services.
Utilize clinical skills to assess and provide psychotherapy/intervention services to young children and parents of young children.
Provide resources and referrals for those interacting with the Pediatric Department.
Oversee/partner in the implementation of screening and assessments and the provision of developmental guidance and Infant Mental Health (IMH) intervention for infants and young children up to 5 years of age and their caregivers.
Complete all necessary required paperwork and patient documentation. Learn how to document in electronic medical record to support billing.
Supervise and train WSU Social Work student interns. Develop effective learning plans, provide continual guidance and coaching. Accountable for student state mandated requirements. Create and maintain relevant documents and records required for the students.
Develop and implement training on pertinent topics as needed for providers and parents/caregivers.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
Master's degree in social work
Fully licensed Master of Social Work in State of Michigan (LMSW)
Experience Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
Experience providing clinical services to young children birth to age five years and their caregivers.
Experience providing case management and intervention services to young children and their families.
Experience offering training and supervision to students or junior colleagues.
Possess knowledge of barriers faced by local Detroit area families experiencing poverty and other socioeconomic inequities.
Maintain personal Professional Liability Coverage/Malpractice.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Technical Skills: Skilled in use of Electronic Health Records or similar electronic systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel. Will have access to private, confidential, and restricted information. Knowledge of appropriate billing and documentation procedures.
Communications Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally both orally and in writing across all interdisciplinary team members. Ability to maintain cultural sensitivity in all actions.
Planning And Organization: Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines. Strong organizational and time-management skills required. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment.
Analytical And Presentation Skills: Ability to evaluate, interpret, and present complex information effectively in professionally prepared documents or presentations. Must possess a demonstrated attention to detail to achieve a high degree of accuracy.
Learning Agility: Independent and innovative self-starter who displays an ability to learn quickly and easily adapts to changing situations. Experience researching topics to gain knowledge and understanding when information gaps exist.
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and community partners and provide services in an integrated team approach; ability to produce high quality and consistent results with assistance of team members; provide support to teammates when tackling complex projects.
