Job Title: Buyer Assistant
Job Description
• Responsible for the maintenance of procurement records in accordance with corporate guidelines.
• Discuss defective or unacceptable materials or service levels with users, suppliers, and others to determine root cause and corrective action.
• Resolve payment issues.
• Collaborate with internal customers to develop business requirements and improve processes.
• Solicit quotes.
• Support and execute supplier and commodity strategies to support plant procurement and manufacturing operations.
• Participate in technical reviews with suppliers and internal teams.
• Travel may be required to supplier facilities and plant manufacturing locations.
Hard Skills
Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures
Knowledge of automotive prototype commodities and services
Research skills
Financial analysis experience preferred
MS Office proficiency; prefer advanced Excel skills
Soft Skills
Strong communication skills both oral and written
Self-starter, highly organized, pays attention to details
Ability to quickly analyze data and present conclusions
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Detroit, Michigan. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Work Environment
Working on site in Detroit. . Dress code is business casual, working in the Manufacturing area of the building. Working with Purchasing organization.
