What you'll do As a member of the Corporate Accounting team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial records and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our general ledger accounts. You will work closely with internal teams to manage financial data and contribute to financial analysis and reporting. You will be responsible for supporting high quality and timely worldwide accounting and act as a resource to the organization for accounting guidance and support. The Accountant position is a full-time position located in Southfield, Michigan reporting to the Accounting Manager. Paid relocation is not provided. General Ledger Maintenance: Perform various global accounting functions, ensuring that assigned general ledger transactions and positions are accounted for properly in accordance with Firm policies and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and supported by appropriate audit documentation. Process domestic and international cash and other transactions in a multicurrency environment. Reconcile cash and other general ledger accounts including analysis, investigation, and resolution of differences in ledger to bank balances or other supporting documentation. Month-end & Year-end Closing Perform routine and nonroutine month-end close procedures including journal entry preparation, data entry, account reconciliation and reporting. Prepare adjusting journal entries and accruals as needed. Internal Controls and Processes Support external and internal audit process by analyzing testing for effectiveness and preparing requested analysis. Evaluate and recommend processes improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Cross-functional Interactions Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and provide financial expertise and recommendations to resolve issues and work towards best practices. Serve as resource to the organization for accounting guidance and support. Additional responsibilities as identified. Perform ad-hoc projects and support firm initiatives. Minimum two (2) years of experience. Public accounting experience preferred. CPA preferred. Knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and accounting principles. Demonstrated ability to use accounting, technical, and analytical skills effectively. Self-motivated. Initiates activities with drive, passion, and dedication to continuous improvement; able to work independently using judgement and under time constraints in a dynamic environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with good interpersonal capabilities and the ability to connect with colleagues within and across functional areas.
