Honeywell Senior Program Controls Specialist in Des Plaines, Illinois

Sr Program Controls Specialist

Location : Houton, TX or Des Moines, IL

#hybrid 3:2 First 90 days on-site for orientation and training

Join a team of specialists that provide program analysis, process improvement, and metrics for Honeywell. You will partner with Integrated program team to develop program plans and create cost and schedule baselines. You will prepare and publish metrics and reports. You will analyze variances and review compliance to corporate guidelines across multiple teams. Your findings will drive decisions to improve the program performance impacting one or more site locations. This role also requests mentoring and leadership skills for development of team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain project cost and schedule tools used by project managers to accurately measure, forecast and track project-related work.

  • Participate in project planning processes, defining scopes, resource planning, establishing WBS & budgets on assigned projects.

  • Work closely with project management, contract management, engineering and construction personnel to define execution strategy, scheduling criteria, progress measurement, and invoicing requirements.

  • Assist, and sometimes take lead, in producing and maintaining project schedules and associated deliverables and progress S curves.

  • Ensure the accuracy of earned value data and process compliance on assigned project portfolio.

  • Manage the unbilled, receivable and payable balances on assigned projects.

  • Actively participates in project review meetings & provides clear, accurate project assessments & gives proactive advice to drive successful project completion

  • Track and analyze project threats and opportunities, develop project contingency budgets and maintains run down curves for cost risk assessment

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in program controls, project management, or related roles (ie Project Controls in Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Oil, Gas)

  • Strong Experience with Cost Control, Scheduling (Waterfall/Agile/Lean/Scrum) and Time Management

  • Strong Experience with Project Life Cycles

  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills

  • Strong Leadership, Negotiation, and Organizational skills

  • Strong experience with Business Acumen

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Engineering, Finance or Accounting or Ability to influence at varying levels across the organization.

  • Ability to work in a large, remote and diverse team in a matrix work environment.

  • User experience of SAP system.

  • Experience in MS Project and/or Primavera P6.

  • Experience in financial data compilation, analysis and metrics management.

  • Experience in usage of Earned value metrics, Estimate at completion growth and Milestone Fidelity

  • Experience in Contract/Subcontract Administration

  • Experience with Risk Management

  • PMP Certification
