About the Job: Under the supervision of the Water Production Supervision, the Maintenance Planner-Analyst is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and operational activities to ensure the efficient and effective operation of water production systems. This role involves managing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), creating maintenance plans, managing work orders, and collaborating with maintenance and operations to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The Maintenance Planner plays a key role in ensuring that all maintenance work is completed safely and on time to meet operational requirements.
- Analyzes CMMS data to:
- effectively modify planned maintenance to use personnel effectively and efficiently.
- determine life cost and recommend equipment repair/replacement.
- Analyzes CMMS inventory and makes adjustments in reorder points, minimum/maximum stock levels and vendor pricing/selection to minimize inventory cost and ensure the correct spare parts are on hand for critical equipment.
- Creates new asset records and maintains documentation and coordinates with other departments to keep CMMS system updated.
- Work with management to plan projects and develop preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Coordinates work activities with management to facilitate effective maintenance scheduling with minimal impact on water production.
- Reviews and updates existing work orders to improve accuracy and instructions.
- Enters maintenance data into CMMS equipment files.
- Trains staff in the use and operation of CMMS, diagnostic equipment, process instrumentation, and other related equipment and machinery.
- Actively participates in department planning, both short term and long term by preparing labor and equipment reports, analyzing data, attending planning meetings, and assisting in department budgeting process.
- Assists in the acquisition of parts, tools, and equipment for planned activities.
- Shall be capable of responding to emergency situations involving either the department or the utility when necessary.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature.
