Software Engineer 2, Finance Affiliate

Job Description

• Prototype and develop responsive and elegant cross-platform functionality on a custom server-side component framework, built on Java but leveraging SCSS, Freemarker templates, and ES6 on the front-end, with VueJS used for more interactive components.
• Play a primary role in designing and constructing major application components
• Ensure high standards of quality by participating in code reviews, advocating for best practices within your team, and helping drive the identification of technical debt.
• Monitor your applications' web performance metrics and UX best practices to ensure they meet Dotdash Meredith's high standards, and investigate issues that arise.
• Work directly with the designers, QA, and product owner in a dedicated scrum team to fully realize the product vision.
• Participate in a well-oiled 2-week sprint agile system to continuously add new features and functionality to the business.
