REES ASSOCIATES INC Quality Assurance in Des Moines, Iowa
This position supports Rees Associates, Inc. by maintaining detailed and stringent quality standards through inspection and education, understanding, establishing, and maintaining specialized plan production records. This position involves in-depth knowledge of USPS mailing regulations and the ability to stay up to date on those regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and create effective review procedures of daily operational tasks related to current policy and procedure.
- Train team members on process methodology and lead process improvement efforts
- Perform quality review checks based on developed criteria and prior results.
- Identify areas of improvement and report/manage as necessary.
- Work closely with department heads to remediate deficiencies.
- Proven results in engaging a team for success via change.
- Inspect material to ensure the highest quality standards. This includes, but is not limited to, printing and placement of addressing and bar-coding, neatness and accuracy of folding, and sealing/gluing of components.
- Approve or reject machine set-up prior to each new production run.
- Inspect sorting, bagging, addressing, bursting and folding hourly, or as directed, at each machine.
- Assist operators and other production employees with problem resolution, which may occasionally include jobs for which the Quality Assurance Specialist is not normally responsible.
- Assist where needed on the production line, including but not limited to operating, bagging, or other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- Pull samples from machines, per client specifications; verify contents; indicate time, date, key code, machine number, operator and initial the envelope
- Thorough understanding of methods and processes involved in manufacturing
