Role Summary

The Information Security, Protection, and Assurance team at Corteva Agriscience is experiencing substantial growth in order to meet the security needs of the world’s first dedicated agriculture company that creates the most recognized and premium agricultural seed and crop protection solutions. Join us as a Data Security Engineer on our Cybersecurity team where you will have an excellent opportunity to influence the security culture at Corteva and further develop your career.

As a Data Security Engineer at Corteva Agriscience , you will be responsible for enhancing data security and protection platforms by planning, designing, developing, and supporting large-scale solutions across multiple software platforms in a large-scale hybrid environment. Key responsibilities within the purview of the Data Security Engineer include preventing data loss, enhancing capabilities to secure Corteva’s sensitive data, and applying data classification policies to be used across Corteva’s environment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Data Protection program and the functions, managed service components and systems used to support the program including data loss prevention tools and the CASB. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the program.

Primary Responsibilities - How will you help us Grow!

  • Manage the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Program, coordinate the remediation efforts, generate reports, and provide metrics on the effectiveness of the DLP program.

  • Manage the CASB platform and Corteva’s Data Protection program.

  • Primary point of contact for data loss prevention from Corteva’s network environment.

  • Build capability to identify and map sensitive data in the organization to support data governance.

  • Define and apply data classification configuration policies to a large-scale distributed environment.

  • Develop and manage key performance and risk indicators that are provided to the Cybersecurity Operations Lead.

  • Protect Corteva’s sensitive data reducing the risk of data exfiltration and misuse.

  • Integrate technology solutions to identify, monitor, and protect Corteva’s data on all assets.

  • Collaboration with various other teams to develop and maintain a data protection strategy that secures Corteva’s data.

  • Maintain an enterprise-wide data classification scheme.

  • Define data monitoring and discovery capabilities as part of data protection to improve visibility and protect Corteva assets from malicious attacks.

  • Create an IT data loss prevention program to actively detect and prevent egress of sensitive data. Incorporate technology to automate and improve DLP capabilities.

  • Promote Corteva’s encryption standards and processes by leveraging the data classification scheme, data discovery process, and Corteva’s business functions to secure all data at rest and in transit.

Experience and Education – What you'll bring to the table!

  • Bachelor’s Degree in comp science, Information Technology/Management, or related fields are highly desired but not required.

  • 5+ years of experience with Data Protection, Data Governance and Information Security strategy, practices, technologies, tools and frameworks.

  • Experience managing and operating a CASB platform.

  • Experience with Microsoft Purview Information Protection solutions.

  • Experience with managing and operating an enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution.

  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and policies a plus.

  • Experience with PowerShell a plus.

  • Ability to lead and collaborate in a team-oriented environment that is multinational and cross organizational with a managed service component.

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen.

  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse technologies and techniques.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Other Desired Qualifications

  • CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

  • CISM - Certified Information Security Manager.

  • Microsoft Azure training and/or certifications.

  • CompTIA Security+.
