Overview

This position will support the Office of Admissions in their outreach to incoming Mercy College of Health Sciences students. The primary role of the Admissions Student Ambassador is to relay their experiences as a student, provide an enthusiastic perspective on their enrollment, and mentor incoming students as they consider pursuing a degree at Mercy College.

Responsibilities

• Assist with campus visit days, new student orientation, and school group visits hosted by Mercy College of Health Sciences. Ambassador involvement includes event set up and check-in, guiding prospective students to appropriate rooms, giving tours of campus, and answering questions about the student experience.

• Counsels prospective students and applicants regarding College admissions’ policies and procedures, program admission requirements and procedures, and prerequisite course requirements.

• Provide phone support to the Office of Admissions to engage incoming students, share their experience as a Mercy College student, and answer questions about Mercy College.

• Assist with office or clerical duties involving data entry, filing, and other clerical tasks that support the Office of Admissions.

Qualifications

• Must be a current, ongoing student at Mercy College of Health Sciences in any academic program or pre-program.

• Must be 18 or older and possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work between 5 to 15 hours per week, including occasional evening hours. Flexibility is given when students are on an academic break or require additional hours for study.

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
