Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The individual will be part of a core team in the Installations Assemblies division of the company and will be in charge of creating a specific cluster of modules in a crucial Reactor Island design area. Achieving the overall business purpose and implementing our innovative design approach effectively depend heavily on getting the layout, modularization, and installation design just right.• Through the Design Review process, advance the design of a designated cluster of modules.• Actively interacting with stakeholders to identify needs and presumptions• Recognise the types of risks that apply to installations on Reactor Island and base judgements on both that knowledge and the risk associated with the programme.• Taking into consideration health, safety, and the environment when working to make sure that all relevant corporate, commercial, and legal laws and procedures are followed.• Developing module clusters that satisfy all relevant system, component, and transversal requirements while collaborating with installation component, layout, and CAD engineers.• Conduct relevant technical reviews and supply the necessary materials to the primary project technical review gatekeepers to guarantee that quality is upheld throughout the project lifecycle.It is extremely beneficial to have knowledge of installation process improvement, data-driven manufacturing, risk management, installation/construction scheduling and planning, and installation process improvement.Although not required, experience designing nuclear mechanical systems is extremely desired. Candidates with more extensive experience in the field of mechanical process system design and the use of modularization will also be given consideration.The following knowledge and expertise will be needed for the position:The Gated Design Review process; requirements management; stakeholder management; technical and programme risk management; design for through-life operation, fault scenarios, and EMIT;Proficiency in communication and presentation will be essential for the role to be successfully completed. Experience writing technical reports.While not required, experience designing mechanical systems for the process industry or designing nuclear process equipment is preferred. We will also take into consideration applications from candidates with more extensive industry experience in the integration/design of safety-critical MEP systems and the use of the modular build philosophy. It would be beneficial to have knowledge of safety assessment principles and other ONR nuclear regulatory technical assessment guidelines.While not required, prior building project experience is preferred. This includes constructability assessments and process plant equipment installation and sequencing. Knowledge of CDM procedures and regulations.

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

  • Competent in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field to the degree level or its equivalent.A chartered engineer, or one pursuing chartership.
