** The Supervisory Case Manager for employment oversees advocacy, crisis intervention, support services, and coordination with funding sources. Ensures that their assigned program meets or exceeds program objectives, supervises the provision of high-quality services for program participants, and further ensures on-going compliance with funder requirements and agency policy and procedure. Responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision and scheduling of staff, volunteers, and interns. Generally, will supervises up to 3 direct reports.

Supervisory Case Manager will also be responsible for conducting outreach in conjunction with the team and all aspects of case management. Acts as a knowledgeable liaison to community agencies and is responsible for promoting awareness of the Volunteers of America resources and services. Position requires ongoing interaction with team members, program participants, and community stakeholders.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Travel throughout the program’s service area is required on a regular basis.

  • Must be able to work in diverse and, at times, uncomfortable environments such as homeless shelters, service facilities, streets, offices, and all other locations as necessary to fulfill program objectives.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Full-Time as indicated in posting.

  • Work hours may vary but are typically scheduled around a 40-hour workweek designed to fulfill program objectives with occasional overtime requirements.

Location

  • Throughout program service area. Employment Field Offices locations are in: Denver and Colorado Springs.

Salary: $55,000/annual/exempt

EXPECTED HOURS TO WORK

  • Monday – Friday 8:00am- 4:30 pm and designated holidays.

  • Evening and/or weekend hours may be required based on program events or assigned job duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the participant’s voice is heard, and the participant's ideas play a prominent role in programming. Responsible for the on-going monitoring of service provision, including oversight of all operational program components from outreach to program exit.

  • Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, and supervises assigned program and support staff and implements on-going training and staff development activities.

  • Responsible for continuous program development and oversight, reviewing funder requirements on an on-going basis.

  • Oversees client program eligibility certification and requests for temporary financial assistance, ensuring all funder and agency requirements are met prior to payment.

  • Works closely with managers, supervisors, and others to ensure team members are receiving appropriate support and have a comprehensive array of veteran referral sources.

  • Assists team in coordinating and connecting with services for program participants.

  • Supervises the provision of support services provided by team members, ensuring adherence to program requirements and field-relevant best practices and standards.

  • Monitors and performs scheduling functions ensuring adequate coverage for participant accessibility, and schedules staff for outreach activities in conjunction with team members.

  • Supervises volunteers and interns as assigned.

  • Monitors all aspects of program documentation completed by assigned staff. Gathers statistical data relevant to the program as required.

  • Ensures work areas and facility are maintained in a clean, comfortable, and orderly manner. Attends to maintenance and repair issues as assigned.

  • Develops systems to obtain necessary supplies and materials.

  • Acts as a community liaison maintaining cooperative working relations throughout the community.

Case Management Responsibilities

  • Provides case management services to Program Clients.

  • Responsible for identifying and serving the unique needs of participant households participating in Volunteers of America programs and utilizing screening and assessment tools and ensuring the completion of needs-based screenings.

  • Responsible for understanding and implementing their assigned program according to program funder and Volunteers of America standards and expectations.

  • Conducts community-wide outreach to identify eligible participant households presenting with substantial barriers to housing stability.

  • Supports team members by serving as a resource for analyzing and solving problems and staying abreast of current issues and theories within the field.?

  • Attends orientations, trainings, education programs, staff meetings, community meetings, conferences, and workshops as requested and applicable to meet the needs of the position

  • May provide training and mentorship to team members and community stakeholders regarding best practices in relevant service models and practices.

  • Clearly documents all client interactions along with required eligibility and demographic information.

  • Performs duties in a professional manner by maintaining the confidentially of all information and by participating effectively within and across teams.?

  • Participates in professional development activities to promote the development of knowledge and experience in field-relevant best practices and standards and makes demonstrable progress towards working in accordance with these practices and standards.

  • Serves as a mentor to junior personnel to develop knowledge and experience regarding best practice standards within their workgroup.

  • Predictable, consistent attendance.

Minimum Qualifications of Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a closely related field or related experience.?

  • 1 years of direct, full-time case management experience demonstrating the ability to consistently apply field-relevant best practices and standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill relevant program compliance and administrative requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams of human service professionals

  • Must possess a Colorado driver’s license and state-mandated automobile insurance.

  • Must possess a personal vehicle that may be used for work-related travel (reimbursement for mileage is available).

  • Must complete agency and program credentialing within 12 weeks of hire and maintain credentialing standards thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications of Position

  • SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) Certification.

  • Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) Certification.

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related field.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to inspire, train, mentor, and lead teams.

  • Ability to balance administrative and direct service responsibilities.

  • Expert-level knowledge and skill in the application of Harm Reduction, Critical Time Intervention, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, and Housing First Principles.

  • Ability to respectfully and professionally serve individuals hailing from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ideologies, and religions.

  • Ability to work and thrive within a diverse, multicultural team environment.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
