Strategic Account Manager - Colorado

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate must be located within 50 miles of our Denver, CO Elevance Health PulsePoint.

The S trategic Account Manager is responsible for the growth and retention of existing Large Group accounts to include upsells to a higher level of products/services based on business size and scope.

How you will make an impact:

  • Achieves retention and growth targets through expert execution of sales process.

  • Cultivates deep trust-based relationships and develops comprehensive understandings of client needs and priorities.

  • Acts as a consultative collaborative partner with brokers, consultants, and key decision makers.

  • Develops strategic business plans to address broker and/or client needs.

  • Conducts broker/agency education on pertinent topics.

  • Acts as primary customer contact.

  • Coordinates with internal partners to meet and exceed client expectations.

  • Drives opportunities for additional growth and product sales.

  • Be an industry and product expert at the local, state, and federal level; continuously updates knowledge in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Provides consultative and strategic sales knowledge to Large Groups with a solid understanding of client and company objectives.

  • Acts as a resource to team members and may assist with on-boarding of new sales associates.

  • Proactively navigates the annual renewal process to include partnering with underwriting and other key organizational stake holders.

  • Responsible for retention and upsell of medical, pharmacy, dental, vision and supplemental health products.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 6 years of sales experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Sales license is required to be obtained and appointed within sixty (60) days of hire.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience with office tools, cloud-based software, social media & collaboration tools strongly preferred.

  • Experience working in the managed care/healthcare insurance industry most notably in Large Group strongly preferred.

  • Experience in analytics, underwriting, stop loss contracts, RFPs, and level funding is strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.

  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, MS Teams and Salesforce highly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $90,024 to $135,036

Locations: Colorado
