The Role
The Senior Security Professional will work under the Senior Manager Security - Federal and provide security administrative support to complex
government programs with personnel security responsibilities ranging from public trust to collateral clearance to SCI access requirements. This is an
onsite, federal team role in Denver which will require a Security Clearance in joining a growing team with Lumen.
The Main Responsibilities
Main responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Provide administrative security support in areas of Personnel, Program, Physical and Operations Security for Sensitive, DoD, and SCI programs to ensure the protection of proprietary, CUI, and classified information in compliance with both Company and government policies and directives
Support the processing and management of personnel clearances ranging from Public Trust, Collateral, to SCI ensuring information is accurately maintained in systems such as DISS and SIMS
Work closely with the Sr. Manager Security/Program Security Manager to ensure all security policies and procedures are documented and all briefed employees are properly trained on security requirements and classification policies
Provide classified and unclassified program security briefings and training including indoctrination briefings, debriefings, annual security refresher training per customer requirements
Ensure the interpretation of government program classification guides and education is applied as needed to the government programs
Assist the Sr. Manager Security/Program Security Manager with investigations of incidents, security infractions or violations
Pass clearances via DISS/approved customer method as needed as well as supporting government location access requests for uncleared personnel
May be required to assist the IT team with troubleshooting, hardware installs
May be required to support physical security requirements of secure facilities in accordance with contractual requirements, and applicable NISPOM and ICD regulations. This includes supporting management and maintenance of access control and intrusion detection systems
May be required to support communication security (COMSEC) responsibilities in accordance with customer requirements
What We Look For in a Candidate
Knowledge of:
Government policies, procedures and systems used for processing and managing clearances, and Executive Orders, NISPOM and ICDs that describe the policies and procedures for protection of classified information and the application and compliance with those policies to develop a strong security program
Human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation
Relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
Structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards forservices, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Investigative and analytical techniques, procedures, and requirements
Ability to:
Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Communicate information and ideas in speaking and in writing so others will understand
Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
Basic Qualifications, Skills and Education:
Must be a United States Citizen with ability to hold and maintain a Top Secret government clearance
This is a security administration position dedicated to supporting government contracts
Working knowledge of resource material such as Executive Orders, NISPOM and ICDs that describes the policies and procedures for the protection of classified information and the ability to overlay those policies to develop a strong security program
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Background in multiple security related fields (Personnel, Physical, Operations, Information)
Ability to handle difficult people and/or situations in high pressure environments
Team player
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Must be a self-starter with a solution-based focus
Utilize forward thinking to anticipate customer/government changes and challenges
Basic knowledge and understanding of information systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications-including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or applicable years of experience preferred
Active TS clearance with current SSBI/T5R investigation
CI polygraph
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$88,980 - $118,630 in these states: CO
