UCHealth Specialty Pharmacy Liaison in Denver, Colorado

Department: Pharmacy Atrium

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Rotating

Pay: $24.11 - $36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:

Supports Specialty Pharmacy in assigned UCHealth Clinics by coordinating and supporting medication access through pharmacy benefit review, prior authorizations, and financial assistance support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in Specialty Clinics on all phases of prescription lifecycle, providing prescription management services and serving as a pharmacy point-of-contact in the clinic setting. Oversees financial assistance process and provides direct support to patients to review and process financial aid applications.

  • Serve as a Pharmacy Program advocate, communicating with patients and clinical staff on the benefits of using the UCHealth Specialty Pharmacy Program. Works to support outpatient retail pharmacy and specialty pharmacy program growth and patient retention by providing patient care and coordination.

  • Provides patients an explanation of their pharmacy benefit, financial assistance options, and answers questions related to prescription coverage and billing. Communicate to the patient the status of their prescription and provide estimated timelines for receiving therapy.

  • Actively take part in process improvement, quality, and patient safety initiatives. Provide feedback around processes and workflows to improve the overall patient experience.

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician-State

  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.

  • Required Licensure/Certification: PHAT (Pharmacy Technician) certification from State Board of Pharmacy. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of pharmacy technician experience required. Preferred: 3-5 years' experience.

  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
