Job Summary:
At Avnet our Solutions Architects (SA) consult with our OEM and ISV customers on a regular basis concerning technical solution design, development, and maintenance of their product as part of the Technology Selection pre-sales process. The SA also interfaces with Avnet’s sales channel, technology partners, and services team to deliver the right customer solution to meet their business objectives. This SA position will provide focused support and technical guidance to Avnet Integrated Solution’s customers interested in any AMD architecture-based platforms and/or Lenovo OEM hardware offerings.
Principal Responsibilities:
Assists in analyzing data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
Act as the principal advocate and SME for AMD and/or Lenovo based solutions within the Avnet Integrated Solutions (AIS) technical solutions team, providing guidance on architectural advantage, optimal configuration and implementation across multiple platform OEMs.
Works closely with AMD and Lenovo technical and Avnet supplier management team to resolve all technical and process related issues to meet the customer’s solution needs.
Consults with other technology staff to evaluate operational and performance requirements of overall design/prototype.
Confers with customers, field sales, regional integration business development, services business development, and supplier management teams to clarify and/or resolve technical problems.
Research and identify opportunities within AIS existing customer base that could benefit from AMD and Lenovo based solutions.
Collaborate with AMD and Lenovo teams to assist AIS sales to identify market verticals and customers not currently being targeted by AIS.
Supports supplier roadmap reviews, and may advise and consult customer on change requests, evaluates impact of change, and provides guidance on implementation timelines.
Foster and maintain robust relationships with AMD and Lenovo's technical and sales teams to remain informed about product offerings, roadmaps, and the implications of new features.
Participate in collaborative planning sessions to identify opportunities for co-selling AMD, Lenovo based solutions, and AIS services.
Identifies, investigates, and engages in opportunities to enhance existing AIS service offerings, improve processes and procedures, including various key performance metrics, and drive mutual competitive advantage.

Participates in Technology Partner and supplier road map reviews, and product training to ensure current knowledge of available platforms and service offerings, with a focus on application of AMD and Lenovo based solutions.
Responsible for maintaining all Lenovo technical certification requirements.
Experience with Medical, Data Center Storage, Security/Surveillance, Federal, and/or Financial Technology solutions a plus.
Customer support and assignments will be primarily US based. Preferred remote locations California, Texas, Colorado, Arizona or North Carolina
Work Experience:
- Typically 12+ years with bachelor's or 10+ with master's
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Technical lead for all customer facing activities including Technology selection, manufacturing process methodology identification, BOM structure definition, and initial first article completion.
Demonstrate a high level of understanding of AMD and Lenovo based solutions and be able to highlight the value proposition and how that aligns with customer requirements.
Champions commitment to continuous improvement through customer advisement regarding new product and process improvement opportunities from current to next generation of the integrated solution.
Position may require up to 20% travel, primarily in USA.
