Amazon Software Development Engineer, Anonymous Targeting in Denver, Colorado

Websites around the world rely on advertising revenue to keep their content free, while still being able to pay their journalists, editors, and hosting fees. As a team, we build solutions that are able to deliver engaging marketing campaigns in a privacy-centric fashion at world-scale, handling billions of requests daily. We use the latest technologies and machine learning (ML) capabilities so that advertisers are able to reach their desired audiences without the need for any specific knowledge about the individuals that make up that audience.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you'll be responsible tackling challenging problems supported by massive amounts of data using the latest advances in technology alongside the best and brightest software engineers and scientists in the world. You'll solve hard problems that drive material impacts by designing, delivering, and operating mission critical, high scale services that handle billions of requests on a daily basis.

A day in the life

A typical day in life on our team includes diving deep into problems and designing innovative and scalable solutions to solve them. You'll have the autonomy to solve high impact problems with your own visions, while having the support of engineering teams from around the company to make them reality. You'll also help your teammates out, and be a significant contributor during their design and code reviews, as well as operating the services we are planning to launch.

About the team

You'll be joining a team that is just starting up, and will have the opportunity to build from the ground up, without the burden of tech debt. You'll work alongside a group of talented software engineers and scientists in a fun, fast-paced, and agile environment. We own our solutions from end-to-end: from design to running at scale in production and operate with a great deal of autonomy allowing us to solve problems in ways that make the most sense for our customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
