OBJECTIVES:

To maintain and service fire protection equipment as supplied by Technicians. To ensure that any piece of fire protection products maintained by our company is in the best possible working condition. To achieve tasks assigned by the Fire Extinguisher Manager or their designated Agent in a timely manner. To perform any other tasks assigned by the Manager while maintaining the Company’s safety goals and objectives.

NATURE OF POSITION:

This position reports to the Impact Fire Extinguisher Manager or designated Agent. The Technician will be responsible for servicing and providing regularly scheduled maintenance on fire protection products in a professional and timely manner. The Technician will be expected to meet weekly productivity goals. The Technician is also responsible for maintaining a clean, well organized work station and ensuring a safe environment for his/her self and co-workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage their time in order to complete the maximum amount of service and maintenance

  • Achieve any weekly productivity goals assigned by the Shop Foreman

  • Protect and maintain company equipment

  • Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including the driving, personal protective equipment, and lockout/tag-out policies

  • Protect the Company’s Assets

  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Shop Foreman

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ability to learn required processes for servicing and maintaining a variety of fire protection products

  • A valid driver’s license and a current and sustainable good driving record

  • The ability to perform physical activities outlined in accompanying physical requirements checklist.

  • Satisfactory results in a company mandated criminal background check and drug test

  • A strong work ethic and professional appearance

  • The ability to fit in with our culture of teamwork

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicable experience in the fire protection industry

  • A basic level of competency and comfort with mechanical fittings, hand tools, and power tools, and other light machining equipment

  • Working habits and personal appearance which are both neat and well organized

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
