The Cigna Group Release Train Engineer- Hybrid in Denver, Colorado
Cigna Medicare Advantage Portfolio Operations is hiring a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to manage one of our Product and Compliance release trains. Product and Compliance continues to enhance and consolidate our various assets to provide a world class customer experience. The RTE leads program level delivery of functional and technical priorities by creating and managing plans, facilitating processes, and ensuring execution of Cigna's Product and Compliance strategy as defined by our business leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely with Product Managers to understand priorities and works closely with scrum master's to understand capacity and constraints. Uses the info from Product and Scrum teams to sequence work and maximize delivery of strategic priorities aligned to their release train
Understands, tracks, removes and communicates impediments, risks, issues, and watch items
Helps manage dependencies across scrum teams contributing to the team, many of which are not dedicated to working on the train
Facilitates the Agile ceremonies including Scrum of Scrums and PI Planning
Assists Product Management with decision making by providing information about what is achievable by the scrum teams and where dependencies will impact plans
Facilitates Feature estimation by teams and then aggregate up to the Epic level
Encourages collaboration between Product Managers, Architects, User Experience, QA, Engineers and Scrum Teams
Helps ensure strategy and execution alignment by working with stakeholders within and outside of the Cigna Government Portfolio Operations organization
Reports status and supports activities related to Program Portfolio Management and Release Management
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 3 years working as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, developer, tester, or other role on an Agile team
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Release Train Engineer or Program Manager.
Experience working with application development
3 years of experience working on complex, enterprise level platforms or solutions
3+ years of Continuous Improvement/Process Management
Rally/JIRA systems working knowledge
Ability to develop a working knowledge of the technical domain to effectively support technical risks that may arise
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Exceptional leadership skills in order to coordinate collaboration across multiple teams
Proven ability to adapt and change processes and methods as needed
Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence the decision-making process, collaborate across the organization and operate effectively within a matrix environment by resolving conflict and influencing others
Experience managing virtual and distributed teams across time zones
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 119,800 - 199,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
